An object such as a document, a physical item, or a virtual item group, is normally flagged as change-controlled at the time it is first added to AssetWise. This is done by checking the Change Controlled check box in the edit form, as shown in the following image.

Approved objects so flagged can only be edited through a formal change request process. The object’s Change Status goes from Current to Change Pending to Under Change in the course of the approval process.
