AssetWise Web Help

Downloading Files

You can download files from AssetWise if you have the necessary permission. You can either download a copy of an individual file within a document, or you can download all files of a document at once.

The steps for downloading will be slightly different depending on which browser you are using, but functionality does not depend on if ActiveX is enabled or disabled for this AssetWise website.

When downloading multiple files, consider the following:

  • You have the option to define the name of the files and folders based on the document information. If the Document Number is comprised of two fields, the values are separated by a dash, in the format "Number1 - Number2 (Revision) - Title"
Note: Long names may require truncation.
  • If the option selected results in multiple files with the same file name, a sequence number is appended to the file name
  • If the folder name option Title is selected, then all files for all documents with the same title, reside in the same folder.

To Download One File from a Document

  1. Open the document in the Content pane containing the file you want to download.
  2. Expand the Files topic.
  3. In the Actions column, place your pointer over the Actions icon next to the file you want to download and select Get Local Copy.
  4. Currently this functionality does not depend on AciveX. If you are using Internet Explorer 10 or 11 no matter if ActiveX is enabled or disabled you should follow these steps to complete the download:
    1. Click Save when prompted.

The file is downloaded to the browser's default download location.

    2. At the final prompt, either click Open to open the downloaded file, or click Open Folder to open the folder the file was downloaded to.

To Download All Files in a Document
